T.R. (Ram) Ramachandran is the Head of Products and Solutions for Visa in Asia Pacific and was appointed to the role in March 2023. He leads Visa’s products and solutions strategy across Asia Pacific, working closely with clients and stakeholders across the payments and financial services ecosystem. He also oversees the region’s innovation efforts, guiding collaboration with fintechs and digital partners that are shaping industry standards, scale, and sustainable growth. With deep experience across banking, insurance, and payments, Ram brings a long-term perspective to emerging technologies and is actively engaged at the forefront of artificial intelligence and digital currencies in shaping the future of payments and financial landscape. Ram joined Visa in January 2015 and served as Group Country Manager for India and South Asia for seven years. He later held the role of Head of Commercial and Money Movement in Asia Pacific, where he led initiatives that expanded Visa’s network beyond consumer payments into business-to-business, peer-to-peer, and government payment solutions. Before joining Visa, Ram spent six years as Managing Director of Aviva Life Insurance in India and 19 years at Citibank India, where he held multiple leadership roles in consumer banking and ultimately served as Country Head of Retail Banking. Ram holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Accounting from Bangalore University and an MBA from Bharathidasan Institute of Management. Ram mentors several start-ups and regularly shares his experience as a guest lecturer at business schools. He is deeply passionate about expanding access to education for underprivileged youth and enjoys reading and golf.
