Florence Mélique
SVP and Regional Managing Director for Europe FBL, Visa
Florence Mélique was appointed Senior Vice President at Visa and Regional Managing Director for Europe FBL in November 2024. She is a member of Visa’s Europe Region Leadership Team.
Florence brings over 25 years of financial services experience across Europe, the US, and Asia, spanning banking, investment management, and insurance. A graduate of HEC Paris and Harvard Business School, she began her career at McKinsey & Company in the Financial Institutions practice before holding senior executive roles at AXA and Hiscox in the Lloyd’s of London market, including Chief Operating Officer for Europe. She later served as Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Insurance France and Gras Savoye.
Florence is actively engaged in promoting France’s attractiveness as a business destination, including through her role as a board member of the Cercle des Présidents des Sociétés Étrangères en France.
In 2026, she joined the board of PageGroup, one of the world’s leading specialist recruitment firms. Her broader governance experience includes independent director roles at Savills, Auchan Retail International, Grant Thornton International, and the French-American Foundation. Upon joining Savills in 2018, she became the youngest non-British woman to sit on the board of a FTSE-listed company.
Florence remains closely involved with HEC Paris as a member of the admissions jury and lecturer in the Strategy and Economics & Decision Science departments.
Her distinctions include a sixth-place ranking among women in Institut Choiseul’s ‘100 Economic Leaders of Tomorrow’ in France, recognition as a Rising Talent by the Women’s Forum, and multiple Executive of the Year titles in financial services in Europe. She has also received awards in economics and corporate strategy from institutions including the US Congress, Harvard University, and the Wharton School. Florence is a Knight of the French National Order of Merit.
