Mehret is Senior Vice President of Platform and Product Management at Visa. She is responsible for setting product and platform direction across Visa’s core processing, tokenization, digital, and network services. She is also accountable for developer experience and design at Visa, and for evolving the product development operating model to be AI-native. Her focus is on strengthening Visa’s foundational platforms, accelerating partner and developer velocity, and ensuring Visa remains relevant across emerging commerce surfaces, including wallets, devices, browsers, and AI-mediated environments. Since joining Visa in 2019, Mehret has held senior global and regional leadership roles, most recently leading Europe Product and Solutions. That experience continues to shape her approach to building globally coherent platforms that can operate effectively across diverse regulatory and market contexts. Prior to Visa, Mehret held senior roles at the Bank of England, where she led major market-infrastructure transformation programs, including the renewal of the UK’s Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system. She also worked across the UK’s regulatory institutions, including the FCA and FSA, developing deep expertise in payments infrastructure, policy, and large-scale change. Mehret began her career at Barclays, working at the intersection of digital channels, credit, and identity—helping to deliver capabilities such as instant account opening, personalized offerings, and modern authentication at scale.
