David Capezza
Chief Risk Officer, Europe, Visa
David is Chief Risk Officer for Visa Europe, responsible for protecting the European business, keeping our clients and the financial ecosystem safe, maintaining security and integrity, fighting fraud, and optimising business growth. Before this, David was the Head of Europe Risk Advisory and lead UK and Ireland Risk Advisor, responsible for managing risk engagement across Visa’s European market. David has also led Ecosystem Risk in Europe, where he was responsible for identifying, mitigating, and managing risks to Visa clients in the region. Prior to moving to London David was based in Visa’s Washington office and led Visa’s Payment Systems Intelligence team in Payment Fraud Disruption, responsible for identifying and disrupting fraud activities targeting Visa clients, merchants, and the overall payments ecosystem globally.
Before joining Visa’s Cyber Security and Cyber Defense team in the US, David gained extensive government and intelligence experience, holding positions within the US Department of State, Department of Defense and government consulting engagements.
David holds a Master’s in Russian and Eurasian affairs and the Russian language from George Washington University, he holds multiple information security certifications, is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and forensic investigator. David has authored numerous publications.
David moved to the UK in March 2022 with his wife and daughters, and they currently live in London.
