Aminata Kane
Senior Vice President/ Group Country Manager, Central & West Africa, Visa
Aminata Kane is Senior Vice President and Head of Western and Central Africa at Visa, overseeing strategic operations across 23 markets in the region, with key hubs in Abidjan, Accra, Kinshasa, and Lagos. In her role, Aminata leads Visa’s efforts to accelerate financial inclusion and drive innovation in digital payments, collaborating with partners and stakeholders to shape the future of financial services across Africa.
Prior to joining Visa in September 2025, Aminata served as Chief Executive Officer of Orange Money Group, where she managed mobile money, banking, and fintech operations in 17 countries. She also held the position of Chairwoman at Orange Bank Africa, spearheading transformative growth and expanding access to financial services. From 2018 to 2022, Aminata was CEO of Orange Sierra Leone, leading the company to market leadership and profitability, and championing digital innovation and social impact initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Aminata worked at Goldman Sachs and later as a strategic consultant at McKinsey & Company in Paris, advising leading firms in telecoms, banking, and consumer goods across Europe and West Africa.
Aminata holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, is an MIT Legatum Fellow, and a graduate of HEC Paris.
She has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, named among the Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa, and received the Africa CEO of the Year Award at the AfricaCom/AfricaTech Festival in 2020.
